Our Mission
To provide a safe, confidential, and nurturing environment where survivors of domestic abuse can heal, rebuild confidence, and move forward with dignity.

Founded in 2008 by Adri Klindt, Huis Jabes is a registered NPO and safe house for abused women located in Cape Town’s Northern Suburbs. We provide short term residential care for up to 18 mothers and children at a time, offering:

• Three self-catering flatlets for reintegration
• Four bedrooms in the main house
• Full-time operational oversight by trained caregivers and social workers
• Trauma counselling and psychological support
• Medical and legal referrals
• Schooling support and daily care for children
• Career guidance and job-placement assistance

Over the years, Huis Jabes has helped more than 1 874 individuals, guiding families out of dangerous situations and helping them rebuild their lives in safety. We are governed by the SOS Trust, ensuring strict accountability, responsible financial management, and compliance with NPO regulations. A haven for abused women and children in Cape Town.

Our partners play a vital role in the work of Huis Jabes. Through their support, we are able to provide safe accommodation, counselling and structured care for women and children escaping domestic abuse in Cape Town. These partnerships are built on shared values of compassion, responsibility and community impact, helping us create real pathways to independence and healing.
